Safety before repair
Know when to stop
ITARA can help organize a safe first check. It does not replace emergency services, utility response, permits or licensed trade work.
Gas odor, smoke or active fire
Leave immediately. Do not operate switches. Call emergency services or the gas utility from a safe location.
Sparking, shock, heat or buzzing
Do not touch the equipment. Keep people away and call emergency services or a licensed electrician as appropriate.
Water near electrical equipment
Do not enter standing water or touch panels, cords or appliances. Leave the area and call emergency services if danger is immediate.
Structural movement or collapse risk
Leave the affected area. Do not shore, lift or enter it. Contact emergency services and a qualified structural professional.
